Peter Hart
about
Born in England, 1960
Lived in Australia since 1970
Peter is a keen nature and travel photographer. His passion for photography began as a teenager who loved taking photos with his Kodak Instamatic 110 camera. Growing up in a family that often struggled to make ends meet, he had to be quite judicious in the number of photos he took. This changed rapidly once he left school and joined the workforce.
Peter also has a strong passion for travel. His passion began as a young child, long before he left England. Peter would regularly travel 180 miles from Southend-on-Sea, where his parents lived, to Doncaster in the north, where he loved to spend time with his extended family.
Once in Australia, Peter's passion for travel continued to grow as he explored this vast country, initially with his parents and then through his work. This enabled Peter to combine his two passions of travel and photography. Peter was very fortunate to have a career that provided regularly opportunities to travel around the world. As long as Peter had a camera in hand, he enjoyed taking the most circuitous route to his destination so he could visit new places and photograph the beauty that abounds in all parts of the world.
Peter’s interest in photography was super-charged through a chance meeting with Ken Duncan in 2013. That meeting led Peter to sign up for Ken’s Coastal Exposure workshop – a four-day boot camp in landscape photography. Learning from one of Australia's best landscape photographers, Peter was able to take his photography to a completely new level.
Peter uses a Canon 5DSR, 5DIV and EOS R, with various L-series lenses and a Lee filter system, to capture images that enable him to share the world's inherent beauty with others.
