2019 Epson International Pano Awards
I am very proud to have received one silver and eight bronze awards for the following 9 images in this year's Epson International Pano Awards. Seven of these images were in the Landscape and Nature division and two were in the Built Environment division. This is a competition for professional and amateur panoramic photographers, and is the largest competition of its type in the world. I would like to congratulate the overall and major prize winners who collectively produced an amazing portfolio of panoramic images.
My 9 awarded images were all captured between November 2018 and June 2019 during photo shoots in Germany, Hawaii, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and while flying over Siberia. I am particularly proud of Wanaka Glow, which received the silver award. All images of the infamous Wanaka Tree were taken during the same photo shoot. It had been quite a cloudy day, and I was very fortunate for the clouds to break up as the sun began to set. The wind was still pretty fierce, but this provided movement in the tree. A slow exposure was used to capture this movement, blur the clouds and smooth the waves on the lake. The distant mountains provided a nice sharp contrast. The 9 images are presented from the highest to lowest scoring image.

2019 International Photography Awards
I am very proud to have received Honorable Mentions for the following 12 images in this year's International Photography Awards™. This is a competition for professional, amateur, and student photographers on a global scale, creating one of the most ambitious and comprehensive competitions in the photography world today. I would like to congratulate the category and overall winners who collectively submitted an amazing portfolio of images to the competition.
My12 awarded images were all captured over the past 12 months during photo shoots in the Czech Republic, Germany, Hawaii, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. They make an interesting collection of images that cover both the built and natural environments. I am particularly proud of the European night images, because my goal was to obtain one special night shot in each of these cities during a European tour that my wife and I took in June this year. The image of the Haleakala Crater is also special, because it is my first award winning panorama that has been created by combining eight separate photos. It was also very challenging image to create, because along with the image of on Mauna Kea, we had to climb heights of up to 4,000 metres to capture these shots. There wasn't a lot of oxygen at that level.

The Mono Awards 2019
I was honoured to recently receive awards for five of the six images that I submitted to The Mono Awards 2019. The Mono Awards was a strongly contested black and white photographic competition that was sponsored by the publishers of Australian Photography and Capture. I'd like to congratulate the winners, runners up and best placed photographers who submitted a portfolio of great images to this competition.
